MEOW #82: Q&A

A weekly meta crossword on the forum started by member Josh (aka madhatter5). These puzzles are often very creative with solving mechanisms out of the norm and skewing towards the more challenging. Puzzles are posted every Wednesday, and the solution appears the following Tuesday.

Well that was a great question! Clever as usual, too clever for me, I needed the nudges.

Cat's Out (hey that sounds familiar!) but not without a lot of pleading and assistance.
NUDGES!I am always willing to give nudges where needed; metas should be about fun, not frustration. Send me what you have done so far because often you are closer than you think!

Submitted post-nudge. Fun one! (if I'm right. If I'm wrong... a little less fun.)

The question was:

Why did the chicken cross the road?

And the answer:

To get to the other side

Wow I would have never gotten that. /whoosh right over me head.

Even with the hints - I COULD NOT FIND THE DUPLICATED "SIDE"!

I really need to take a break from metas...

Same here! I thought the duplicate words were “altar” and “altars”… trying all sorts of paths between them lead nowhere!

Very clever…. Too clever for me! 😂
