I got a slow start on this one, and was griping about screwy clues and entries, but at some point I got into the swing of things, and ended up enjoying the puzzle a lot. Thanks, TEMJ!

I got it and solved it, even if I'm not quite sure how! I've gotta hand it to Master Maltby, though; he's a deviously playful so-and-so.

Just finished this and am so impressed with the deftness of the construction. Maltby is at his best and most enjoyable, IMHO, when he adds that little extra solve after the grid is done.
