I thought the puzzle was a lot of fun, and not as hard as Steve made it out to be in his email. The last piece, after the grid was completed, was just a guess for me as my knowledge in this area is more limited than limited. I really got a kick out of the wordplay for 20D.

Some very good cluing here. 16a, 34a and 20d were last in. The last step dealing with the deleted portions was never going to be within my abilities. Oh well. I didn’t take it personally.
