The only thing I want to say is how random these metas seem to be. I didn’t get last week’s meta, despite how easy it was for everyone else. This one just might be the easiest one I’ve ever done. It just popped out at me. It’s all in what you see.
Agree on all fronts: New to post, long to lurk, last week's puzzle stumped me (finally gave up on solving the meta & instead found as many animals as I could, hehe), and solved this week's in record time. Will hopefully agree on mug-winning, too!

Grid done but still working on the meta. With Isaac trying to decide between a Dark & Stormy or a Hurricane (or many!). Safe weekend to all in Dorian's path.
'tis... A lovely day for a Guinness!

On shore quickly this morning. Back at the real beach for the weekend. Finished the grid last night, then ran into a chum with a bottle of rum, and ....well, you know the rest.

On shore.

Hanging out in Jackson, Wyoming. Took me a little longer to get focused on the meta this week.

43D !!! Just now found the 🏖.

Apparently I was too distracted yesterday evening, trying to watch the Bearcats and solve the meta simultaneously!

Isaac is mixing that Bloody Mary with extra horseradish. Looks like I'll be relatively lonely at the ship's bar this week. (Marge let me know if the garden needs anything...)
If I don't see this it will break my longest-ever streak which dates back to 5 July's H.G. Wells

Didn't see anything at first, but came back to look again three or four times over the course of the day and finally found it. Sand between my toes for the fifth week in a row, a personal best for me!

Good Friday Morning fellow Muggles.

Mr. Gaffney has given us a challenge somewhat more than the last month or so but not unsolvable. I would put it in the classic Gaffney category.

First we welcome our three newest muggles: ericharrison1969 (I hope that is not the year he was born as that will make me feel really old but we like "youngsters"), jmorgie7 and BellPiper. Bell posted before but was never on the ship or shore so this is his/her first.

So far we have 5 on the ship and 47 on the shore.

I'm stuck on an answer that I really want to be right but I'm pretty sure isn't.

Bob, count me with one foot on the bar rail at Isaac's and one foot over the rail of the boat. That's because while I see the (I think) obvious first step, and searching down numerous rabbit holes, I am finding neither hide nor hare.

I have a new strategy.

1) Get frustrated that I can't find the answer.
2) Post to this forum that I am hopelessly stuck at the bar with Isaac.
3) Take another look and then...
4) 17A!

Count me firmly on shore!

Marion and I are definitely on shore - she rowed better than I did this time! Regardless, we are there dodging Dorian.

Luck to all............
