MEOW #80: Water, Water, Everywhere (Not really, but in my bowl please!)

A weekly meta crossword on the forum started by member Josh (aka madhatter5). These puzzles are often very creative with solving mechanisms out of the norm and skewing towards the more challenging. Puzzles are posted every Wednesday, and the solution appears the following Tuesday.

MEOW #80: Water, Water, Everywhere (Not really, but in my bowl please!)

Hi All --
Going to be a tough act to follow, bringing up the rear here.
Filling in for Josh with a pretty easy kitty but I hope you get a kick out of it.

Crosshare Water, Water, Everywhere...

PDF Water, Water, Everywhere...

PUZ Water, Water, Everywhere...

spreadsheet Water, Water, Everywhere...

Thanks to Joe Ross as usual for teching this out.

The answer to the meta is a name.

Hints on Saturday, that you probably won't need anyway, and/or feel free to PM.
Crosshare will make you feel validated too, of course.

Have fun!

Let it be known that I'm not what you would call a "cat person".

The cat is out of the bag.
Sometimes you want a puzzle that's a challenge, with a complicated connection between two or three steps.
But sometimes the perfect puzzle is the one that's whimsical.

Staring...staring...staring.

There it is! Love it!

I am not sure who it happier about opening the bag. Is it me or is it the cat!

The cat is free of the bag!

I got a slight nudge, then felt dense for needing it.

Thanks, whimsy!

Cat's out.
Check out "The MOAT MEOW Mashup Pack" here. US$10 for 14 metas that don't always abide by the "rules" of the game: asymmetry, 2-letter words, uncrossed letters, who knows. And this time there's a mega-meta!

Lots of kitties (and chickens!) hanging out here at the resort, but my beach bag is empty. Fun one, @whimsy. Perfect vacation meta!
