Enjoyed! (as always)
I found 15a and 34a the last to parse, even after I got the grid entries.

Fun one and a satisfying solve! Took a while to start filling the grid but it fell quickly after I figured out the process.

Saw the gimmick on my first fill so it was a relatively quick solve. Great job by C&R; their puzzles are the gold standard for cryptics.

Fun, and got 20A fairly quickly.
Do NOT have 6A, 32A, 8D, 28D.

Satisfying and clever, as always. Always look forward to C&R's WSJ puzzles.

Had the wrong gimmick for quite awhile until 20a became clear. That was fun!

Enjoyed solving 20a fairly quickly but still have a number of entries in the eastern half to either solve or suss the word play for.
EDIT: finally got them all! but needed an assist on the last three (15a, 34a, 28d)

I’m still working on the those four. Tricky.
Finished the last four. 8D was my favorite.

Might have liked 6A the best.

I enjoyed this one too! Clever word play! It helped to make a note of the number of letters needed in the grid next to the total letter count in the clue list!

28D was my favorite.
15A and 8D were the last ones I figured out.
