MGWCC #730 — Friday, May 27th, 2022 — “Just Putting It Out There”

THIS WEEK’S INSTRUCTIONS:

NOTE: Due to the late post, the deadline for solving today’s meta is 4:00 PM ET on Tuesday, May 31st.

This week’s contest answer is a famous athlete whose name is 12 letters long.

Solve well, and be not led astray by words intended to deceive

--Matt

Peter Gordon’s A to Z Mini-Crosswords:

9 days to go on the Kickstarter for Peter Gordon‘s A-to-Z “Petite Pangram” puzzles. I backed for $52 which means I got to choose a word in one of the grids.I forget what I picked but it was something obnoxious like ZZZZZZZZZZZ just to make him work for it. Anyway, these are great fun so consider pledging.

I'm just putting it out there that this might be a Week 7.

I like when Matt is late. It allows me, not a morning person, to make it into the top ten.

Ditto. And I had the exact right idea of where the next step was. Several times so far.

I also have an answer that I keep trying to backsolve to but can't get there.

If by step 1, you mean knowing that it's a puzzle I'm in the same place. If you mean anything else I got to step Zero and have no idea what the next step is.
Funny story. I was all set to enter Par for the course for the CrossHare midi contest for April but I mistakenly thought midi meant 7x 7 and not 11 x 11. Oops. Well.... Here's a complex but **small** meta on the subject of golf.

If there is a typo - 18*-letters versus 12 - I've solved.

At this point it's simply a question of what will come first: next Tuesday at 4pm, or the ascendance to fame of an athlete named LPVSIC DPTLTA. Only time will tell.
