"Cutting in Line" - May 22, 2022
From Will's email
This week's puzzle: Cutting in Line
Difficulty: Medium-Challenging
The answer to this week's meta is a phrase describing an eager person.
(No Google for this one. Seriously, none.)

Agree about 18A. Although it’s in a dictionary.

LOL, baseball fans don’t read the dictionary. Besides lingo is commonly used jargon and that definitely ain’t it.

I guess I've never been on the same wave-length as Will.
Funny story. I was all set to enter Par for the course for the CrossHare midi contest for April but I mistakenly thought midi meant 7x 7 and not 11 x 11. Oops. Well.... Here's a complex but **small** meta on the subject of golf.

Dino me, after a small nudge which told me to do what I was already doing. Funny how having it confirmed you're on the right track helps!

If that is the case what’s the word for ruining two great starting pitching performances in the same day?

You see, that's where the dictionary falls short. A bleacher creature at Yankee Stadium, clever person that he or she is, would coin a more appropriate term. I bet that at this very moment a new phrase is sweeping the Bronx---"we've been Chapmaned". For clarity, it must be pointed out that this has nothing to do with Piper Chapman, who undoubtedly has better stuff than Aroldis.

It's been a long while since I've followed Aroldis Chapman as a Red and I haven't followed him since the Yankees purchased his contract, but nobody electrified a ballpark more than he did throwing 106+ MPH aspirin. You'd hear his pitches better than you'd see them.oldjudge wrote: ↑Mon May 23, 2022 11:01 am

Dinoed with nudges.
Check out "The MOAT MEOW Mashup Pack" here. US$10 for 14 metas that don't always abide by the "rules" of the game: asymmetry, 2-letter words, uncrossed letters, who knows. And this time there's a mega-meta!

Dino me!
Shouldn't have needed the nudge, but I was making it much harder than it was. Nice one!
