"Taking Notes" - April 10, 2022

Post by hashbrown »

This week's puzzle: Taking Notes
Difficulty: Challenging

The answer to this week's meta is a three word phrase which might take notes.
(I'm fairly certain that Google will be of very little to no use to you this week.)

Crosshare link: https://crosshare.org/crosswords/pzzApR ... king-notes

Will is also asking people to get in touch if they would like to help with constructing metas based on ideas for puzzles that he has!

That was very clever!

I’m out of the box
If you want help with a meta, feel free to PM me. The more specific you are about what you have and what you want, the more likely I can help without spoiling.

(And if I help you win a mug, I’ll be especially delighted.)

Well I see the first step ...the subsequent step(s?) are still a mystery to me.

Dino me!

I was getting nowhere, then my better half suggested something, and it began to emerge.

Very nice! Great to have such an involving meta on a lazy, beautiful (here) Sunday. Thanks, Will!

I got stuck after step 1. For some time. I guess sometimes my brain just works too hard. But with some trusty friends, I found the way home.

Dino me.
Check out "The MOAT MEOW Mashup Pack" here. US$10 for 14 metas that don't always abide by the "rules" of the game: asymmetry, 2-letter words, uncrossed letters, who knows. And this time there's a mega-meta!

yes i see step one (clever!) and am trying to figure out where that leads. What could he mean by…. ? I think I know where to look, but can’t see that the indicated thing(s) leads to anything. Will have to sleep on it!

Update: Once again I will credit my morning coffee with my morning solve after late night stuck-ness. Solved! Fun mechanism… I felt like a sleuth.

Great puzzle! Step 2 was a doozy. Instructions should have contained a warning: Do not solve on phone

Found step one. It seems like I have tried every option that I believe to be suggested for step two. Apparently not!

Not giving up!
