On the board. Nice construction, but I agree that Google was necessary to fill some of the entries in this grid.
Check out "The MOAT MEOW Mashup Pack" here. US$10 for 14 metas that don't always abide by the "rules" of the game: asymmetry, 2-letter words, uncrossed letters, who knows. And this time there's a mega-meta!

I found both grid and meta challenging. My knowledge in a key area is merely average or less. Fortunately, Mr. G is an able assistant.

On the board.
I didn't find the grid too challenging, but it wasn't necessarily easy. I always seem to learn something with Pete's fills. The meta jumped out at me thankfully. Hope the same holds true for the WSJ.

I fell into the trap of recognizing what I would need and glossed right over what I didn't have. Fortunately I didn't get too distracted before I got back on track. Nice one.

I agree with you (and just about everyone else) about the grids being tough and often requiring a little duck-duck-going. (So much harder to type or say than Googling. How about "Asking Jeeves"?)
I didn't get 41A until later. I'll send you a PM.

I got the answer pretty quickly. But then it took me another day to realize it was the answer.
Happy to give nudges. If you notice I've solved, please tell me about avenues you've explored so I can nudge you in the right direction and not off a cliff.

I think 41A is referring to universities. Parse the answer as an abbreviation.
Got the meta. I liked this one!

I'd forgotten about this till I got Matt's e-mail telling me to solve it while waiting for a delayed MGWCC. I did.

Oh My Goodness! I finally got it. I was getting worried.
I see why other got it quickly though.
@Prozach I don't want to be a downer, but I don't see how you can be even 1/2 way there and not be all the way. I'm willing to give feedback on what you have, send a Private Message
(added) Oh, I see you are on the board already. Did you have the meta 3/4 solved? tell me in a PM, or after it closes on Sunday.

I have Faced the Music!
Like others, my "initial" problem was the grid. The meta was revealed fairly quickly.
It seems like the relative simplicity of the meta, when I graphed out my solve, should provide an inroad to the Mega Meta.

Here’s a suggestion for those concerned about missing an MMMM because they come less frequently and may land in your spam folder - use this board as your reminder.
Just go to the MMMM subforum:
viewforum.php?f=8
Scroll to the bottom of the page.
And click the box to “Subscribe forum” Then you’ll get a notification when someone creates a new topic for a new puzzle and people start posting about it. Assuming you’re on here some time between Tuesday and Sunday, you’ll be reminded that there’s a new meta available.

If you want help with a meta, feel free to PM me. The more specific you are about what you have and what you want, the more likely I can help without spoiling.
(And if I help you win a mug, I’ll be especially delighted.)

Took me a lot longer than many posting here, but finally got it this AM after a fellow member renewed my interest - I had given up until he pinged me to ask if I had any thoughts. Not exactly a group solve, just the kick in the pants I needed to pick it back up and try.
If you see that I’ve completed the MGWCC meta, feel free to DM me and I’ll help you out - nudges, confirmations of paths, etc.

Did not notice the last names crossed until I saw this uber-artistic reveal
Typo at HILDALGO/SNOGS

The site is just a web page, a meeting place, a clubhouse - it's the group that's special.

@Abide: Uh, well, consider the reveals, then.
EDDIE: What reveals?
@Abide: Any reveals.
EDDIE: Why?
@Abide: Well, have they got jobs?
ARTHUR: Who?
@Abide: The reveals.
EDDIE: Have the reveals got jobs?!
FRANK: What's the matter with him?
ARTHUR: He says the reveals are scrounging.
@Abide: Oh, uhh, no, the point is the reveals. They do all right. Don't they?
FRANK: Well, good luck to 'em.
EDDIE: Yeah. They're very pretty.
