Pent-Up Aggression - March 2022

A monthly, music-themed meta crossword published at noon on the first Tuesday of every month. The puzzles increase in difficulty each month, and at year end there is a 13th puzzle (the "Mega-Meta") that invokes each of the 12 monthly puzzles. Currently available at https://pmxwords.com/, as well as through the Washington Post website here: MMMM at WaPo

Got it. I was sooo close on Day 1, then put it aside. Got it pretty quickly after a fresh look just now.

After staring at this on and off for a couple of days, I submitted an incorrect answer this morning. Will be interested to see the right answer when it comes out.

Had the answer pop into my head, but had no idea it was a musical act… Thanks Google!

I don't see a "mechanism" per se, but "web crawling" did reveal something that could be construed as an answer. But not sure.

Pretty surprised by the number of people on this board who aren’t familiar with the meta answer…this was a 5 second click for me. Of course I also DNFd February so…

It's amazing how everyone's brain works. I had the February meta halfway through solving the grid. For this month's meta I was taking nibbles around the edges and didn't get it until this morning (with some helpful nudges).

My Pent-Up Frustration nearly turned into Pent-Up Aggression but will turn into Pent-Up Relief (shut up, @DrTom ) when the leaderboard is updated.

With three answers that make sense to some degree, one has to choose the "best" one.

Pete: "You've got to ask yourself one question, 'Do I feel lucky?'. Well, do ya punk?"

Well ..., since you put it THAT way!

I'm only seeing 308 solvers on the board for this month. Website doesn't seem to have updated for me. Last submission was hadrosaurak03 at 1:32am today.

I received an email confirming submission but do I need to try again?

Rumors are that the C. family gummed up the works.

It's a glitch, but your entry should be safe. I'm in the same sitch. Our emailed confirmations are proof, if needed.

Not sure what’s going on with the leaderboard. I was delayed about 1.5 hours, so feeling fortunate that it wasn’t any longer. If you’re confident with your answer, stay confident!

I made it on the leaderboard with about 40 minutes to spare. Cut that way too close.
This one played plenty tough for me.
