I was down to the 8th word. I had 4 of the letters; 3 in their correct spots and pretty sure where the 4th one would go. BUT that left me with a toss up between 2 possibilities for the 5th letter and we all know my prowess to pick the wrong one...but for once I finally guessed right

Coin-flip on & choice of 3 on . Chose the word on that would resolve them all, so was down to a 50/50 chance with 2 to go.

Had myword reduced to 2 choices and my word to 3. Was able to see that selecting 1 of 2 of the 3 choices in my word would resolve all.
Made the incorrect choice & lost my chance at solving in.

Haven't gotten a 10 in what seems like forever. Is it just me, or has Octordle been a lot harder lately? Lots of words that are not very intuitive. Got lucky that all my guesses today panned out.
