New Yorker — December 27, 2021 — Multiple Puzzles with Meta

Did anyone else tackle this?

Lots of good puzzling here, in various styles. I did the ones I could (The Impossible Crossword is … impossible! … and some other stuff depends on deep knowledge of New York City) in early January, but somehow I missed the fun “Treasure Hunt” meta attached to Patrick Berry’s “Going Too Far” puzzle.

This weekend, a friend asked, “So, did you get the meta?” I returned to the magazine (taking her copy; I had pitched mine), and puzzled over it again much of yesterday. Today, on my health walk, what do with first meta clue came to me in a flash. It rolled from there.
