I’m enjoying these variety cryptics from Steve M. This one has a nice pay-off.

I think 8d works: definition — “methinks”; “one day” — I DAY; “without” — container indicator (i.e., opposite of “within”); “‘God of War’” — ARES = I D[ARE S]AY.

I enjoyed the puzzle and got the answer but for the life of me could not find one of the twelve repeated letters. Whole grid filled, went through and marked them in pen... still only got to 11.

I enjoyed this one very much because of the clever payoff. Nicely done on that account. Also, like Ricky, was stuck on 11. Finally discovered what I was missing. Took me a while to anagram, and then all became clear. Will look forward to Steve’s next offering.
