Yeah, one of my favorites too. (I mentioned omphaloskepsis in post #368). I remember wondering if that's where the "om" chant came from.

Kas - the snow looks frozen on the dogs. What did you do? 1) leave them out hoping for a January thaw, 2) put them in the garage until the snow melted, 3) sequester them in a bathroom while they thawed and you mopped up the water?
Vigorous toweling, Bob. The dogs enjoy it, and we keep a supply of old towels handy, year round. (If it’s not snow, it’s rain, or mud, or…whatever else those two monsters get into…)
@Kas Skunks?
Only one (glancing) polecat event with either of these two--but I've experienced it with prior pooches. That requires a bit more than "vigorous toweling," lol. These two guys are pretty good about not rolling in truly vile stuff, but they'll go off on swamp/estuary-hopping escapades if unattended. Messy...but not Skunk Messy.

Love the word too, but for some reason it always makes me picture some weird Seuss creature. Something along these lines?

Still no winner? Well, as a graduate of the US Navel Academy, I think the mug should be awarded to me
. True story, the Class of 1990 received diplomas which spelled Naval as Navel. Ah, sweet memories.

When I owned a UPS Store, I had the license plate on my car as "ship4u". A fellow once asked me, "Are you a Navy man?" In retrospect, I should have responded, "No, just a navel man."

I like a challenge and start Wordle with a different 5-letter word every day. I haven't failed yet (not trying to humble brag). From what I understand, I really play in hard mode, because I always use all of the correctly guessed letters in my subsequent guesses.
