REALLY enjoyed that one! Thank you, Ben, and congrats! By the way, does anyone else but members of my family eat pancakes with just butter, no 46A?
Good luck, fellow Muggles!

Fun. The only thing making this harder than a Week 1 is that last week's was SO easy. :)

7 people have whiffed on this one and I'm pretty sure I could guess why (I almost made a certain mistake trying to be speedy)

Awaiting beamage...I'm 98% sure I've got this one - I imagine some of those whiffers came up with the non-appropriate word that was my first result. (I even looked up Australian slang terms for this word hoping for confirmation.) A second look with the thought of "well, why *can't* it be [REDACTED]?" showed that it could be.

Edit: #188!

@Wendy Walker Could that be because you don't live where they make real 46A?

On the board. No metas to fret over this weekend, which is fine! I have a ton of work to do before starting a new semester Monday (grading, parent comments, syllabus polishing).
Happy to give nudges. If you notice I've solved, please tell me about avenues you've explored so I can nudge you in the right direction and not off a cliff.

Probably the same mistake that I DID make in haste. I quickly saw the error of my ways.

Nice one, @benchen71 ! I missed an update, but beamup requested and quite confidently hoping I didn't do what the 7 wrong ones did.
If you want help with a meta, feel free to PM me. The more specific you are about what you have and what you want, the more likely I can help without spoiling.

(And if I help you win a mug, I’ll be especially delighted.)

That's just plain crazy talk! As my family knows, the #1 criteria for a good pancake (or French toast or waffle) is the SAF.

[46A] Absorption Factor.

I've been curious what the error is. I assume someone will say something further once the competition ends.
Check out "The MOAT MEOW Mashup Pack" here. US$10 for 14 metas that don't always abide by the "rules" of the game: asymmetry, 2-letter words, uncrossed letters, who knows. And this time there's a mega-meta!

Weird. I made it onto the board, but I just glanced at the grid again (a few hours later) and thought wait, what did I submit? I'm about 75% sure that the answer I sent was slightly wrong. I don't think that it's the same possible error that others have mentioned, but who knows.

If Matt (or the webmaster) rechecks the entries I might get beamed back down, does that ever happen? I enjoyed the puzzle, anyway!
