I have and, if, and but between my toes.
Funny story. I was all set to enter Par for the course for the CrossHare midi contest for April but I mistakenly thought midi meant 7x 7 and not 11 x 11. Oops. Well.... Here's a complex but **small** meta on the subject of golf.

Finally ashore.
A nudge or two from my muggle boys.
Point Amber m6 brew of choice tonight.

Boy I am stuck on this one! It seems like it should be right in front of me but the letters are square pegs in round holes this time!! Would anyone be able to offer a small nudge in this trying time? :geek:

First time posting, but I’ve been lurking for quite a while. My wife and I are both stuck and could use a nudge.

Calling myself on shore even though I'm still perplexed about two of the letters. Submitted!

If you still want assistance, send me a PM with what you've done and I'll assist you.
Good luck to all for a successful solve. If you see that I'm ashore - rare occasion of late - message me if you'd like a nudge. Be sure to include your progress so I can know better how to assist.

Not so fast, Captain Bob. Made it to shore with 93 minutes to spare! Thanks to my Queen of Meta, Wendy Walker, and a final token drop in my brain! Doesn’t change the odds for mug winning🙃

Given that I also had a EAVESDROP I think that's the right answer.

They seem to have some trouble with their schedule around the holidays. That's understandable, I do too. :)

So, I did get to shore, but even looking at the solution posted above, I still don't see why my two 'pesky letters' work. I don't get why 'police' matches 'emts' or 'justice' matches 'education' the way that the other ice words do. My brain needs to be more pliable!

They're alterative answers to the clues, not alternative words for the answers.

Thus, both Education and Justice are cabinet departments. Both police and EMTs respond to life-threatening situations.

There was a similar mechanism in the July 23, 2021 puzzle, “Two For One.”

We feel like we've been at sea so long it has become a Waterworld for us so we'd like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a good end of year and a Merry Christmas to those who are celebrating.

I've never seen "Chicago Hope" but assumed there were POLICE hanging out with ERDOCs. EMTS makes much more sense.
