Great city. Hope the weather is as good as it was for us when we were there last year
It’s beautiful. One more day here. Then Bratislava Vienna. Cesky krumlov. Prague. And why did I choose week three and four for vacation. Oh. Because that’s what works best for my day job.
Sounds like our trip in reverse. We went with OAT and started in Prague and worked our way through those cities to Budapest.
We went 4 years ago when my daughter did her semester abroad in Prague. We took the overnight train from Prague to Budapest. Both were really fun and interesting cities to explore. Our time in Vienna was just a few hours waiting in line at the airport while our flight was cancelled and rebooked :-(

Ashore!

Wish I could say I'm reporting from somewhere exotic -- or even just not so hot and humid. But our older son and daughter-in-law are coming to town tonight, for a wedding, so we'll have fun in spite of the weather.

Oh, that's funny. I was thinking the entry was probably some modern meaning that I am not aware of because I’m not 25, and it turns out to be a word I used A LOT when I was 25.
I looked at the grid to see what you were talking about. Now I see it! Funny! (Heidi)

Thanks for all your creativity. I enjoy the mental challenge even when I am not on the same wavelength as you.

I wonder if I would have gotten it so quickly if there hadn't been earlier puzzles that used a very similar method.

Today is one of the few times I’ve glimpsed the beach mid-puzzle. Quick swim to shore, where I’ll be be happy to clink a glass of Dreher (or Tokaji) with my fellow Hungarophiles. Egészségedre!

On shore after a lengthy slump. We're gonna need a bigger beach!

Have one of these. Zwack Unicum, a somewhat medicinal cordial from Budapest.

Oh, no! After reading the numerous posts even at this early hour, I am intimidated! It took my wife and a friend and I to even finish the grid. Maybe a first step to the meta. Will keep at it.

Unicum is exactly what I brought back for my friends after doing a semester in Budapest! Particularly those friends of which I wasn’t particularly fond...

Count me ashore. Quick and easy. Kind of like I'm hoping tomorrow's MGWCC will be since last week was not Week 2ish. IMO
