Okay, turning out to be a 1.5 - - lots of solvers so far (which I like). I’ll give a rundown tomorrow, but in the meantime hats off to the first (test) solver, Al Sisti, who made your lives a lot easier by some of the fill improvements!

TO quote Joe Pesci. " I mean funny like I'm a clown, what????"

I might taste off, perhaps a little medicinal, at times even a little bitter but deep in my heart I am only trying to amuse. Perhaps I need to teach a course on the Tom approach, but then I might be accused of putting my heart before the course.....

Oh, and for the record I have not yet solved it. I think I know what I need to do I just cannot find the step that leads me to the letters. I'll soldier on in my own funny way :D

I couldn't find it the first time around but I had some coffee and did some dishes and took a second look and it was right there in the totally expected places.

Hmm... you may be making a very very slight assumption.
Funny story. I was all set to enter Par for the course for the CrossHare midi contest for April but I mistakenly thought midi meant 7x 7 and not 11 x 11. Oops. Well.... Here's a complex but **small** meta on the subject of golf.

Off the couch! I managed to create a couple of stumbling blocks on my own. Nice neat puzzle.

EDIT: I actually managed to find THREE stumbling blocks. I submitted the wrong answer in spite of it being 100% (in my opinion).

Is it possible to PAGEANT oneself?

Didn't get a chance to look at it until this afternoon. Still on the couch. I see step one, but don't yet know what to do with it.

Ah yes I stopped too soon. The correct answer is much better. Very good puzzlatin’ by Chris.

Very nice!

I thought I had everything I needed but I let habit lead me astray (ain't that always the way). When someone assured me that what I was seeing was not an artifact I was able to leave the couch. Fun puzzle Chris, and plenty of red herrings...

Off the couch!

(Who am I kidding? I'm rarely out of the classroom right now...trying to fit the Systems Of Equations unit in before the Thanksgiving break.)

Out of my desk chair!

This puzzle was as good as any meta I've solved. The quality here is incredible. Very nice, Chris!
