One of the really nice things about the MMM is the surprise that comes every Monday when the week's constructor is revealed.

Good morning, Muggles!

I'm so excited to have a puzzle premiere and to hear how everyone likes it. Please don't hesitate to send along your critiques...creating the puzzles is a blast, but I'll only get better if I know where to improve.

I think this is a Week One and very few nudges will be needed. Rest assured, I plan on being far more diabolical in the future.

A quick bio: I have taught secondary math for 34 years...everything from Pre-Algebra to Calculus. The only class to escape my grasp is Statistics, and I'd love to give it a go before retirement. I seriously doubt I will put off retirement if it doesn't happen though.

My puzzling goes back to 8th grade, hiding my copy of Games Magazine under my notebook and working a Selinker cryptic instead of doing classwork. I only discovered metas a few years ago, but I credit them for helping me through a tough 2020...as I know many of you do as well.

And I despise geography themed puzzles. :| :| :|

I can't wait to interact throughout the week. So enjoy!

Steve

I’m super impressed with our newest puzzle creator!

And I’m off the couch. This one is not my bailiwick, but plenty of indications of what to do.

and THE THURMAN8ER (said in a very low voice) has one of the greatest screen names of all the muggles.

Off the couch. A fun solve, and the right level of difficulty for me these days. Also, stacking three 10-letter entries twice is impressive, even with an auto-fill function since it probably comes up with not-very-good words.

UPDATE!

Dr. Tom was kind enough to point out a mistake. In my late-night revision, I accidentally misclued 34A and 34D.

34A was supposed to be "Bug-tracking org."
34D was supposed to be "Dinner bell din."

Should make a LOT more sense!
