can anyone confirm does the answer lock hard into place? I came up with an answer but I feel like I am missing a step.

Had a late start but very much stumped. I know the clues but the clues don't know me. May have to throw the towel on this one

Count me among those LAS at this point. I've tried a few things, but nothing is jumping out quite yet.

Even with some helpful nudges, and then a couple shoves, I’m still LAS. Not my week.
Thank you to the patient saints who tried!

I tried to get the tender driver to spill the beans when she returned me to the ship, but no such luck. I have submitted a Hail Mary answer and have reached out for a nudge. Maybe I can figure out what the answer really is.

No luck, despite many rabbit holes.
We'd love a nudge, if possible.

For me it did.
There's a subtle step... but if you don't do it you get nothing.
Edit: I guess one can not go far enough. Should feel like a lock if you do go far enough.
Funny story. I was all set to enter Par for the course for the CrossHare midi contest for April but I mistakenly thought midi meant 7x 7 and not 11 x 11. Oops. Well.... Here's a complex but **small** meta on the subject of golf.

I’ve been in sick bay all weekend (think I got something from the grand babies last week). Between naps, I’ve been staring at the meta but coming up empty. Would appreciate a nudge….

Purely for record keeping purposes, I advise herewith that I remain on the ocean in an inner tube...

Still with Isaac. Eyes blurry from... staring at the puzzle or drinking. Not sure which at this point.
Too many shallow rabbit holes. Can't even find step 1, assuming there are multiple steps, which, judging from the comments, there are. Can't even find a way to back-solve, which has never worked for me anyway. Time for a break, as advised previously by @VanVeen .
Not taking any nudges. Must try to keep my 43-week streak going. Will go down with the ship, assuming Isaac's supplies last until then, or I black-out before it happens.

Ashore!! A rabbit I chased all weekend worked out, just needed all the pieces (and some intense googling at the end). Great puzzle!

Pulled to shore with way too many tugs to allow me submitting. I got very lost in rabbit holes related to the mechanism and guess that my only explanation is that I was not thorough enough....In hindsight it is a good puzzle, but there were, for me, far too many bright red wiggling, spawning, fin flapping herrings.
NUDGES!I am always willing to give nudges where needed; metas should be about fun, not frustration. Send me what you have done so far because often you are closer than you think!

I was hoping to get a game of shuffleboard going but jumping overboard and floating in an inner tube sounds way more fun! Heading to the gangplank now. Gonna hold my nose. Seems like a long way down. Look out below!!

It was not this one.

It's come to this! I'd love a nudge if anyone is listening. Unfortunately, I have racked my brain, but have NADA!

Onboard but not done,
This one appears to be fun!
A midnight plus one?
