Tricky grid (done) and tough-to-find meta, apparently- based on the numbers. I am flummoxed.

Still working on the meta, but can anyone message me and explain 24A? I've solved the grid, but I don't understand that one. Thanks!

ETA: Thanks everyone for the quick replies! So obvious once you know the answer.

The names in the 24A clue are palindromes and so is the answer. Only 27 on the board so far and it's almost a full day later. Not yet desperate to find the meta, but I'm afraid I might be getting there.

Solved -- finally. Explored a few rabbit holes, but after a couple muggle nudges, I was able to see where I had gone wrong.

I mean, the fact that the professional meta solvers needed 25 minutes to solve this tells me I have no chance at all, but why do I still keep staring at it, thinking “it can’t be THAT hard…”?

I am totally LAS on this one. Have tried some promising rabbit holes and come up hareless.

LOL, is there a pro meta league? There is in computer games; why not metas?
