On a beach the last few days, where twice, after hiding all day, cross-sections of the sun -- just a little faded and orangey from wildfire smoke -- have been visible for only a minute or two as it passes behind the tiny slit between the ocean and the marine layer above.

Off the couch.

Edit: not so fast - still on the couch. I thought that seemed a little too easy.

I have "the COVID" something awful (actually, I am on the mend and, yes, had been fully vaccinated with the officially approved Pfizer, was diseased by a close relative who also had been fully vaccinated with Pfizer). I am going to refill my spirits, as soon as is practical.

Like Schrödinger's cat, I am both off the couch (solved) & on it (pathetic & surrounded by ugly detritus). Remove the blanket to see if there is any "he is" there.

[EDIT: Thank you for the good wishes expressed here & privately. I am on the mend, and merely had symptoms of a decent flu, with none of the signs of serious illness others have faced. I responded well to OTC flu meds, vitamins, fluids, & a lot of rest. Please, do not worry about me. I will be well, soon! THANK YOU!]

Well I THINK I have it, my answer made perfect sense with the puzzle, but then Peter has "swimsuit competititoned" me before (pageantly speaking, you would NOT want to see me in that competition I can assure you).

Still waiting to see if I am uncouched or just uncouth (now STOP, just because I give you a lead in....)

EDIT: Given the message I got back from Abide it looks like I do NOT have the answer. I am absolutely gobstruck because everything fit perfectly and there was at least one confirming point to the answer. Oh, wel, describes my Meta weeks lately.
