Once I figured out the right path (overlooked something obvious to start) - pretty straightforward solve
Perhaps just me - felt like there was a bit more google than normal this month?

I agree, more google for the meta than normal. But a clever mechanism.

Agree on all of the above. Took me a bit to break into this one, but once I did it was pretty straightforward.

Got it. Same with the googling. The grid was harder than the meta.

I say that after EVERY Muller grid.
My depth of musical knowledge is at the kiddie wading pool level compared to the deep free dives needed to complete the grid.

I usually avoid these puzzles because of my deep lack of musical knowledge. But with one like this that requires extensive and repeated googling kind of takes the fun out of trying to then suss out the meta. And it's exacerbated if one has to continue the googling to solve the thing.

Enjoyed this one! I see a lot of familiar names on the leaderboard.
Good luck, fellow Muggles!

Yay, I'm on the leaderboard. I agree that the grid was tough, but I managed to get through it without Googling. But I think that getting the meta requires heavy use of Google for almost everyone but the most dedicated audiophiles. I totally blanked out on figuring out one of the things that one needs to get the meta, and spent quite a while on Wikipedia for my penance. But I rather like metas like this one that require you to do some research work to figure them out.
On the brighter side, I am immodestly pleased that I've now gotten both the mega-meta and the red herring. I had a good flash of insight for the mega-meta last month, but struggled a lot with the red herring until today's puzzle finally made it click into place.

This meta was definitely not geared toward me. I had to Google a lot in the grid and Google a lot for the meta and, although I listen to a lot of different music, this band is new to me.

Like others, I needed to rely on google way too much due to the breadth of my ignorance of various music genres. But the construction, as usual, was amazing! I’m so impressed by the uniform excellence and creativity of these metas!

Hm. I found a mechanism and arrived at an answer, but it doesn't appear to fit the prompt.

Well, I needed more than Google's help, but I toiled to the end.

Made it to the leaderboard, but definitely wore out my search engines in the process.

that's where I am: "an" answer, but I think it's not "the" answer yet.
