Puzzle Buddy Jane and I are on the beach!
While I was throwing out suggestions, Jane was cruising to shore fast enough that I could surf home on the wake! My suggestions were pure rabbit holes, of course.
AVBC Winter Solstice Ale comin' up. Bahl hornin!

Oof. I see nothing. Don't know much about baseball, but I do know Google, so hope abounds. Maybe I'll see something tomorrow, but for now will order a root beer from Isaac.

Couldn't sleep last night, so I finally got up around 4:30 am. Filled in the grid and arrived ON THE SHORE shortly thereafter.

Ashore, but only with Google's help.
Check out "The MOAT Mini Pack of Marching Bands" here. US$5 gets you 7 Marching Bands which, hard enough on their own, now contain metas too. And once again there's a mega-meta!

On shore, like many others I needed to look things up.

We are always happy to get to know other muggles and help in any way! PM's are always welcome. The next best thing to winning a mug is helping a fellow muggle win a mug!

Burdette also pitched a shutout for twelve innings, and in the 13th, Aaron homered.
And I listened to the whole thing on the radio.
If LB had been the answer to this one, maybe the title would have been "Put a Little Spit on the Ball." But he denied it, and Wikipedia is equivocal.

Actually, I first read the puzzle's title as "Put a Little Spit on the Ball." My WAG was going to be Gaylord Perry.Bird Lives wrote: Fri Mar 21, 2025 9:58 amYour uncle was not alone.Bob cruise director wrote: Thu Mar 20, 2025 5:29 pm@Bird Lives My uncle swore that he threw a spitball.Bird Lives wrote: Thu Mar 20, 2025 5:15 pm
