On shore! A margarita will hit the spot!
If I don't win a mug, I can always make one... ;) but it won't have the same cachet.

I've been staring at this for about 45 minutes. I'm calling it now...

On shore...
But I feel like this is a setup perhaps. Or maybe there is a step to further extrapolate that I haven't found yet. Seems too in-your-face for a Gaffney puzzle and though what I'm seeing feels overt, I'm not quite seeing the confirmation anywhere else. So I've not yet submitted, but I can't imagine that what I am seeing is not what MG is looking for, right?

In the meantime, I better go ahead and make room for the bubbles in the ice-box and finish that bottle of egg-nog I made... If you need me, I'll be sleeping until Sunday.

Oh and go Broncos!
If you see me on the beach, feel free to pm for a nudge. After all the help I’ve got, I am happy to send it forward when I can!

Ashore. After the last two days of holidaying, I'll just have a glass of seltzer, please.

Bob cruise director wrote: Thu Dec 26, 2024 4:01 pm Does anyone know what day of the week this is. If it weren't for the WSJ contest, I would say it was Friday or Saturday
I never know what day it is!

But whenever it is, I’m on the beach. Knew the answer long before finishing the grid. But I finished it anyway of course. And double checked as I always do with metas. And highlighted. Who wants to spend the weekend with an un-highlighted puzzle?:)

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and any other holidays you’re celebrating this week!
If you want help with a meta, feel free to PM me. The more specific you are about what you have and what you want, the more likely I can help without spoiling.

(And if I help you win a mug, I’ll be especially delighted.)

On shore, a few minutes after starting (late). Makes up for the last two weeks flailing my arms in the middle of the ocean.

Page 5???? On a normal non-holiday week I'd have expected to be on page 10 by now.

This is like waiting excitedly for a Christmas gift, only to open it and be disappointed.

I might have said 59 A out loud.

MG will have his revenge on me next time, of course.

I have become accustomed to shipboard life these past few weeks (months?), so it is surprising to find myself cannonballed -- that quick -- onto shore. The sand feels nice. Once my head settles down from the rapid acceleration and deceleration I'll go for a Cabernet.

Happy New Year to all.
