On shore. Probably my fastest solve. Fun one - I say that, of course, since I won’t be agonizing all weekend over the meta. 🏖️

Ashore!

I'll hold on to this one, to use for explaining meta crosswords to a newbie. Seems to like the a very model of a not-too-hard and highly accessible, yet plenty fun meta. Thanks, Mike!

Ashore! Another quick grid and meta.

No complaints.

Ashore, very elegantly constructed. In my book 14 A = Shenk. Gin & Tonic after work

Wow, after a week on vacation that spanned two Metas, with limited time and trying to spell it out on a tablet, I felt that I'd never again see dry land. But here I am, solved and ashore on a Thursday! At least I'm 99% sure I found the right sand. Either way, I'll happily take an ice-cold Stella to beat the heat before today's rain comes in!

Side note! My daughter encouraged me to submit my name, pic and a short video to the Wheel of Fortune audition page... Much to my surprise, I was contacted and have a Zoom virtual audition tomorrow! I'm both excited and mystified that they reached out! Anyone done this? Any idea what to expect? Hoping that I make the show... I would love to use my aptitude of solving words to earn some cash and maybe an all expenses paid vacation!

Wish me luck!!

To add: Sunday is also my born-on date, so lots of positive energy coming through here at the moment. Never thought one of my best birthday presents would be a Wall Street Journal crossword that I breezed through and then quickly found the secondary puzzle if I were to ask my previous self from years ago... Ah, but I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now

If you see me on the beach, feel free to pm for a nudge. After all the help I’ve got, I am happy to send it forward when I can!

On shore and page 5 already--why did I plan errands for this time of day.

Pretty noisy on the beach already--I've been YELLing my drink order dOWn to the cabana boy but he can't hear me. Guess I'll just have to BELLy on up to the bar. I trIED a metanism and was not diSAPpointed--SUCcess on the first try! That will probably change next week. I'll have a mojito--just what I've been hanKERing for.

Solved! Quick but delightful. Old Fashioned please.
Check out "The MOAT Mini Pack of Marching Bands" here. US$5 gets you 7 Marching Bands which, hard enough on their own, now contain metas too. And once again there's a mega-meta! :D

Ashore. Too many interruptions today for one I had right idea of the metanism before I started. One of my fastest sovles when I could get to it.

As the daughter of an underwriter in an insurance company, I was pleased to solve this. And enjoyed it - nice construction.

Solved and on shore. A cold sparkling Italian for us. But before 5:00 pm local time and on page five, wow! Hope everyone gets a break from the heat and has a good weekend!
