Late start, grid was difficult for me, meta was not.

Nice to be on the beach.

Sorry about that, Chief

Firmly occupying a seat on deck with Isaac. Finished the grid, but got nuthin' for the meta. You "submitted, now to finish the grid" folks amaze me...

UPDATE: On shore with a light nudge from the ever-helpful @BarbaraK. Still amazed...

This is (for me, anyway) the 🥴 meta I have encountered of the twenty or so of these I have done. J just registered to ask whether it is experience or was this one particularly 🥴 ?

On shore! Took a bit to see the necessary. Glad to wrap this one up after struggling so with the grid. Happy mother's Day!

Only got as far as the grid before heading out to a post (3-night) town meeting recovery get-together, Beers and Bites, at local Start Line Brewery. Will now see if the "Not Sorry Peanut Butter Chocolate Stout" adds or subtracts to meta-solving capability.
