Not quite the answer to this week's meta that I expected, but all are safe.

If you are a fan of the show Stranger Things, it's the same microwave that's seen on a counter in the show ... so that tells you that it's ... probably overdue for a replacement.
We made a decision earlier this year to become microwave less. We have not regretted it once.

we bought the house in 1988 (it was built in the late 20s) and have had one regular oven and one installed microwave in these 31 years.

it's now time to go to two conventional ovens - holidays have always been a "how to get it all cooked" struggle, the house has finally dealt us the last card needed so we know it's time to upgrade that part of the kitchen.

The rest of the kitchen has been a rolling upgrade since 2014 (almost continuously), so ... it was time to add to the list.

Nope. I suspect this might have been one, if not the first time I have posted in the specific WSJ topic?

Hmm - I have an idea but I'm going to run it by Isaac before concluding that I am right.

Under any circumstances, welcome to the group and good luck winning the mug.

Feeling like the character at the beginning of the old Monty Python shows, I have straggled ashore.

Nudge ("nudge, nudge, wink, wink; know what I mean?") helped but likely would have arrived solo some time later in the weekend.

To all, happy and healthy 2020.
'tis... A lovely day for a Guinness!

Settled my bar tab with Isaac. It was quite large having spent the last month with him.

On shore and enjoying the sunshine.

Thanks to Marie and her mates for all the fun puzzles throughout the year.

Merry New Year to all. Look for me under the bridge Tuesday morning.

I am safely on shore - Seems like a 100 percenter once I found the right path. That makes 52/52 this year, and I believe 2 solid years from the infamous PAGEANT disaster.

Have found a couple very shallow rabbit holes that looked promising at first glance - but can find nothing to tie those mechanisms into other clues. Hopefully my 2nd Manhattan or a fresh look in the morning will reveal something I'm missing.

Like the new(?) signature line. Although I think I pushed it to the limits these last few days!

On shore at last! Whew, that took a while. Very clever puzzle and meta!

Maybe now I'll see if I can figure out my stats for the year. I'm not as good at keeping records as the rest of you but I may take advantage of xivxav's micromug spreadsheet (which he/she very thoughtfully posted at the end of last week's forum). In fact it might warrant a page of its own so the link doesn't get "lost" over time...

Ashore! Struggled, but Rita finally got the 'aha' -- love it that when you find it, you're sure that you have it!

I didn’t spend too much time with Isaac the past few weeks, so we’re catching up now. Hopefully, after a few drinks I’ll find my way to shore.

Thanks Kay! Except in my head, I didn't keep track of my record, so I had to go back through each weekly forum (not as tedious as you might think since my avatar is fairly recognizable!). Only have missed 5 since the forum started. I'll sleep better tonight knowing I'm only 962,147 micro-mugs away from a real mug!

Fun, challenging puzzle. Learned a new word or two. On shore with no doubts. Enjoyed this one thoroughly.

Quick trip to shore. No time for a glass of egg nog, even. May the new year be as smooth for all.

On shore and ready for the New Year! I'm glad to have discovered metas and this group late in 2019. Looking forward to more puzzling in 2020.

Hmmmm - either I’ve completed the first step or this is the deepest rabbit hole I’ve ever explored. Step two is proving elusive, though - pour me another Isaac!
