Still at the bar with Isaac. I thought I saw something interesting, but it was a dead end.

I'm taking care of my 92 year old mother who fell and broke her shoulder and pelvis, so I wasn't even sure I would have time for the grid. Luckily she naps a lot. And, I think she'll be fine in a few weeks. Waiting for the PT to come. Hope they can get her to walk. My back is sore from lifting her all the time.

If you don't hear from me, Happy Holidays to all!
Best wishes for a fast recovery for your mom (and your back)! Is she interested in these puzzles too?
Thank you! She does crosswords, but not metas. I've tried to get her interested, but it's too much for her!

The landmass on the horizon is Shanghai ... maybe Bermuda ... could be Pearl Harbor?

I got nothing.

You can add Minnesota to your list of members.
Welcome to the clan. I think that makes 3 or 4 muggles from the great state of Minnesota

Bob cruise director wrote: Thu Dec 19, 2019 4:11 pm As a side note, this week I was wondering if we have muggles from all 50 states (and DC). In looking through what I have, I could confirm muggles in all states except: Alaska, Arizona, Alabama, Delaware, Hawaii, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, North Dakota, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Utah and Washington state.

I am sure that I have missed muggles from these states but let me know.

As a side note, we have muggles in Ontario and Switzerland. Not sure if there are any other countries that people live in.

BOB -

I live in Kansas City, MO so take Missouri off your list!!

still at the bar, and we seem to have both sides of I-70 covered in MO (Trey - KC, me, STL area).

Going to sleep on this one, not counting any calories tonight.

On shore, with an "aha" moment that was pure scream, then giggle wiggle. :)

I'm happy to be enjoying the festivities with Isaac! The last two weeks I was able to fill in the grids, but didn't have internet to assist with the last step of the metas. It was curiously satisfying to get the mechanism, but not the answers.

Also in Washington State.

Still on the boat with Isaac, who is dressed quite festively. I think I see a pathway to shore, but no joy yet...

Had not had much luck in the last few months. Thought my Meta Mojo had deserted me entirely. Did the grid last night and saw nothing. Looked at it this morning and found the right path. Count me ashore. I have another observation, but it might be taken as a spoiler, so I won't say it until Monday, even though I don't think it would help anyone except to maybe confirm what they have already found.

Straggled my way to shore with a bit of friendly assistance.

I can now replace those visions of red herrings with winner mugs. Happy holidays to all!

So many rabbit holes, so little time. I was pondering it in bed and literally slept on it. Didn’t wake up with the answer but soon thereafter. Coincidence? Maybe, but it might be my new solving technique.
