LAS. I keep feeling like I’m right at the cusp of something but maybe standing too close to the trees to see the forest.
I’ll put it down for a bit and see if lightning strikes.

Still clueless too. Even though we just went out for Fast Food - and a drive around our beautiful countryside up here in the North Country.
Actual huge amber fields of waving grain everywhere- barley ( and broccoli ) are successful cash crops here in rotation with the potatoes.
Looks like I’ll be sleeping under the stars at the back of the ship tonight again. So count me on Isaac’s team when you do bed check tonight, Cruise Director Bob.

DOH!!! On shore. After spending WAY too much time burrowing down a dead end rabbit hole I will describe post-deadline.

On shore.

Like everyone, I found the grid challenging this week.

On shore. Same comments as above. Either these are getting easier or I am getting smarter--and I don't think it's the latter.

Still with Issac.

I'm just now reading this week's comments; still on the boat. I see NOTHING. It is just as I feared.....many people say they've solved, it's easy, etc. etc. etc. (sigh) Hoping for post enlightenment.

KayW wrote: Fri Aug 02, 2019 8:22 am Keeping Isaac company for now. From the posts so far I think I'll have him all to myself.

Tough grid for me and an even tougher meta. I see something that has to be a first step but no idea what to do with it. I'm posting now because I'll be busy all weekend at a family get-together with - horrors! - no wifi :o . Hoping post-enlightenment will find time to strike without search engine assistance. But that seems unlikely given my lack of familiarity with anything I'm seeing so far.
Nope....I'm still at the bar.

Very late to the beach this week. I was WAY overthinking this one and went down more rabbit holes than I care to count. I had the answer staring at me right after completing the grid (agree w others a fun challenge) and passed it by thinking too easy. Ah Matt you are so clever you can even fool us with a straightforward one!! Well done.

Joined the crowded beach here and at LBI, NJ as well. Clever meta as usual.

Had a wonderful contemporary folk duo perform at the shore house this week. Google "Frances Luke Accord" and check out their videos if you're interested.

Good Saturday morning fellow Muggles

An interesting contest by Mr. Gaffney. Most found it easy but others are struggling

First we have seven new muggles this week from both the WSJ page and our blog here

William Koslosky
Antony Sarnicola
Daniel Gill
and Michael Silverman

Richard
Moi
MaineMarge tending the garden
