Nice meta. Too bad I knew the answer I was looking for.

Ok now I solved it the way Matt intended. I think that is my first Gaffney solve in forever.

Wonderful puzzle. 100% conclusive on the meta.

All I can add is a heartfelt thank you to Matt.

I'll just have a smooth chardonnay and raise my glass.

Onshore.

Grids & metas such as this are why i love puzzles! Very enjoyable! Lots of "hey look at that" moments, double entendres, hints, and suggestions - with just enough red herrings.

Hats off to Mr. Gaffney for both a brilliant concept and execution !!

Ashore! I suspected the answer from the title. Confirmed it with the mechanism. Fun and quick meta!

Edit: Like most everyone else, the mechanism only gave me half of the answer, but I’m still 100% on the answer. If anyone sees a mechanism for the other half, message me! I’ve yet to find it.

On shore. Very quickly half solved it but that was enough. Fortunately I don’t have to show my work!

Just printed out the puzzle and settled in with my pencil and Paper Mate pink eraser. Thank you Matt for noticing I joined the forum with 38D!

Ashore! I liked this one - if I were to introduce a friend to metas it would be something along these lines.

Hmmm--I think I know where the shore is though I'm not sure I have figured out the mechanism to get there...

Team Maine partner Bob and I are heading to shore to join the lineup of Muggles we see already packed in like sardines there.
Fun solve, Matt. Thanks! We needed that!

METANISM!!!! I love it!
I didn't coin the phrase. I saw it used by Jeffrey in a post from last week.
