Obviously the WSJ wanted me to get the final chapter of this palliative care textbook edited: By 4:15 I got tired of hitting "refresh" on the puzzle page and got back to work. I'm now onshore! We got 8 inches of rain yesterday here in eastern Pennsylvania from Ida. Mark and I are fine -- not so much our low-lying neighbors, unfortunately.
Schuylkill at high tide today. Crazy. Had to walk out and see it for myself. Glad you are high and dry. We are too.

Goodness, how many 12-letter words are there? Solved the grid with some difficulty, and went immediately down a rabbit hole that yeilded a 12-letter word that was kinda fun, but I knew wasn't right. I went back and have found step 1 (very cute, made me grin), but did not jump straight to the answer. Need to put it down for a while, so count me on the ship for now, but with high hopes of catching a tender soon.

On another topic: The problem with mowing the lawn right up until dark is that you can't stand on the porch and look at it when you're done. I will, of course do that in the morning, but it's just not the same....

Okay, so I’m going out on a limb, but I think I’m ashore! I’ll verify later.
Yes! Definitely on the beach! But … like others above, I’m not submitting my answer until the puzzle appears on the “official” WSJ web site …
.
So I have now thrown caution to the winds, submitted my answer, and am cavorting merrily on the beach in a manner completely foreign to the normally sober demeanor one would expect from one of my advanced years …
.
In muggleland, you are not considered being in "advanced years" until your age has three digits
