I showed this to my wife, and she said "you did WHAT?" She liked the Cross Country one much better than this one. LOL
EDIT: on at #284

I'm stuck with what I have convinced myself is the answer (a.k.a. Point B), and what are the pieces needed to get there (a.k.a. Point A). However, I can't see the path from Point A to Point B.
Maybe this particular path is pointless?

Beaming up at #293. Team Maine got it together again.
Really really loved this one.
Gotta go now. I see the private shuttle is here for me.

Ready to beam up. Thanks to the help of a few kind Muggles who dragged me past my disbelief that this construction would be possible.

After a kind nudge telling me to do the thing I should have done from the start, I am waiting to be beamed aboard. Incredible that it's this constructor's first meta! Congratulations, Andrew!

I have to have these printed out for me and brought home. I forwarded both emails, but they came back identical. Assuming that’s the wrong puzzle. But it won’t open on Matt’s Patreon page or download from the .puz file.

Look at 18-D and 19-A. Are they the same in both puzzles?
18-D should be "Exeter Exams" and 19-A should be "Feeling Yesterdays exercise, perhaps".

Yes. Same in both; in fact I was forwarded the .puz file and same in that also. The mix up was that there was no mix up? Too confusing.

Well, I'm flummoxed. All I can figure is that maybe as the two files had the exact same file name one overwrote the other. Or you aren't actually opening the "correct wrong" old one and are actually opening the "incorrect wrong" new one.
Well..... It doesn't matter. If you are opening the correct one now, there's no reason to try to open the incorrect one.
FWIW though the correct wrong one (that is to say the one sent in the first email and is incorrect) has the following (incorrectly numbered) clues:
ACROSS
15 Escorted
19 Exeter exams
23 Omen
24 Dojo Instructor
25 Kidney Related
26 Abbr. on an Ambulance
DOWN
15 Singer McCann or Ike
18 Feeling yesterdays exercise, perhaps
22 Like Shrek's ears
The actual puzzle (the one sent in the third email and is corrected) should have the following (correctly numbered) clues:
ACROSS
15 Singer McCann or Ike
19 Feeling yesterdays exercise, perhaps
23 Like Shrek's ears
24 Omen
25 Dojo instructor
26 Kidney related
DOWN
15 Escorted
18 Exeter exams
22 Abbr. on an Ambulance
........
In essence three down clues were swapped with three across clues and the neighboring across clues were nudged out of position. Very weird but it has been corrected and the puz and latest pdf are correct.
(And do it... it's a !great! puzzle.... really fun!)

MGWCC #720 -- Clue Issues - MAR 18, 2022 AT 1:10 PM
Dear MGWCC Solver,
The PDF program I use had some unexpected exporting issues due (I'm guessing) to the strange size of today's grid. As a result, there are some weird things happening in the clues; for example, the clues to 15-A and 15-D have been swapped, and the clue 19-A is actually the clue for 18-D.
So if you run into any strange clues, please check the .puz file, where all the clues are correct. And if you submitted an incorrect answer based on the weird clue issues, please e-mail me (
crosswordcontest@gmail.com) and I will allow a mulligan.
Thanks and sorry! This kind of exporting issue has never occurred before to my knowledge. Quite a strange thing, undoubtedly caused by the grid's odd shape.

This weekend was the first time we were together with out kids since Dec 2019 (before COVID). They had never seen metas before, since I didn't discover them till later. So this MGWCC turned into a family project, with my kids filling in the leftmost part and identifying the key grid entry that opened everything up. Remarkably ingenious puzzle.

FTR, all three puzzles I had, different emails or files, were the correct one. So I was flummoxed by the instructions that said it was wrong.
Unfortunately I don’t have the time today that I would have yesterday. Tbh I’m not good at these and rarely even attempt a Week Three.
