I think I have it, but need to ponder it further. At least 58D was an easy one for me :)

Agreed. Tough grid. Meta sent me a short way down a rabbit hole or two but the mechanism revealed itself pretty quickly.

On shore...definitely agreed with those above who took the "walk away and come back later" strategy.

Wow ASHORE!!! Looked at it early, then went back and still saw nothing then, out of the blue I did a "what if..." and sure enough.

Delighted!!! I'm 100% on this one for a change.

NUDGES!I am always willing to give nudges IF ASKED; metas should be about fun, not frustration. PM me what you have done so far, because often you are closer than you think, and I will try to help you move along.

I am SAFely on shore, but hardly at the FRONt of the line for the tiki bar. I was fortunate to FINd the meCHanism straight away.

I am enjoying some chamomile tea with a few Christmas cookies. Had to do my baking early, since we celebrated with the kids (and this lovely grandbaby) last weekend.

That was fun! I'm onshore, checking the pantry and making my grocery list to bake @Cindy's Mom's Improve-With-Age cookies, which I learned about from the report on one of her previous Christmas parties. They're perfect for shipping this time of year, when you never really know how long it might take for a package to arrive.

Did grid and afternoon and had no idea. Had dinner, walked the dog, looked at puzzle again and immediately saw what to do.
