On the ship with some great company. If there are special instructions to join the zoom, would someone please PM them to me?
Yes, I know, 2 years of lockdown and I still don't know how to join a zoom meeting. Heck, I'm retired, and technologically feeble........

We are always happy to get to know other muggles and help in any way! PM's are always welcome. The next best thing to winning a mug is helping a fellow muggle win a mug!

Isaac! My man! Long time no see!

I was feeling pretty confident after last week, but this one has knocked the wind out of my sails. I can't see what I'm missing. I even walked the dog and everything. He suggests more ear scratches and belly rubs might help. Oh, well, maybe another superheated infusion of free radicals and tannin will get the synapses firing again.

Oh my god. I got it!

You have to be utterly demented desperate and perverse to even think of or attempt what I did and there's no hint why you should do my bizarre and weird thing as opposed to any other bizarre and weird thing that any other lunatic might think of.... But dang if what I did didn't give a coherent answer that incorporates every thing presented in the puzzle.

So either I came up with a weird alternative answer that works, or there is no sane way anyone sensible (apparently I am neither of those things) could ever solve this.

edit: Okay, I'm exaggerating. There is enough reason to try what I did somehow (that's why I did try it eventually). It just feels like there's not only no-way it would work (but I was desperate) it's impossible to see that it would lead to anything. But it did and it was a complete surprise but once you did it it does surprisingly lead straight to an answer. (I can't really wait to see how the answer would be explained on Monday.)

The A Team (13 of us, no less) got this. It took that many brains, and one small nudge from the outside.

Still satisfying, maybe more so because of the comaraderie!

Count me on the beach, and a bunch more coming...

At the bar with our old friend Isaac.... oh gee, is this another Gafney puzzle? Hmmm...
Had a riff on the "last word" cocktail using Mezcal...Gin is still the way to go.
Not sure we'll get to spend too much time on this; celebrating our 32nd out of town with friends.

Hope you all have a wonderful -- and safe -- weekend.

ugh. LAS for the second week in a row. At least last week I ended up figuring out 3/4 of the mechanism. Here I don't even know where to start.

OK, this has GOT to stop! I finally found my way to shore by swimming with a much better group of swimmers and drafting in their wake, but ashore.

This is a week 5 NO DOUBT, heck I think this one may be harder than last week, if that seems possible.

Thanks to the Muggle Zoom Room and the clever, clever, clever people in there. Even after they found the mechanism and showed me it took me 10 minutes to work it out. Last week was only slightly intuitive, this week on the other hand is not only not intwoitive, it is not infourmational but that may have been intentional....

So I am ashore with massive help, the Zoom meeting is over and now I can release the cat. I found this handy reference piece that all of us cat lovers (Wendy, are you listening?) may be interested in:

HOW TO GET READY FOR A ZOOM MEETING

PS: Needless to say that with all of that help I will not be submitting, the META Gods would curse me - now granted they would hide the curse within another seemingly normal undertaking, and I would probably not notice until someone said "hey, didn't you notice that screaming banshee right behind you, the evidence has been there for days"
NUDGES!I am always willing to give nudges IF ASKED; metas should be about fun, not frustration. PM me what you have done so far, because often you are closer than you think, and I will try to help you move along.

I took the muggle zoom tender to shore. Haven't done a group solve in ages, and I'd forgotten how much fun it is.

For those who missed this meeting, the zoom room is always open. Just pick a time and announce it here and get another group together.

Welp, I'm on my usual streak -- one week things jump out at me and I can make my way to shore, but the next, I'm totally stumped how to even begin. Oh well, at least the Braves won. And the parade was nice (if a bit chilly). Now making my way back to the Lido Deck bar.

I was also brought to shore by the good tender Muggle Zoom and I won't be submitting. I'm travelling over the weekend, so I certainly needed the help and I won't be around for nudges. But I look forward to the discussion on Monday!

I'll take a Victory at Sea for that group solve...

Find Isaac, and then proceed to the bar at 5 o'clock! :D A link to the Zoom is in the bar at the top of the page next to the 'Quick Links', 'FAQ' and 'Meta Calendar'.
