The Reveal:
Well I have to say this one surprised me. I am so poorly informed about music that I thought, “If I know these, EVERYONE will know these”. Judging by the number of posts bemoaning the amount of Googling necessary (and I cannot blame you for being search tired) I am guessing LOTS of you were stumped by my approach.
If you noticed the singers AND were familiar with their hits, then this was a cakewalk. If not, well the gift becomes a Puma. With CASH and “Ring of Fire...” I assumed everyone would see it and say, “OK, DrTom got ya!” I had not allowed for Roseanne Cash (Johnny’s kid) or June Carter Cash (his wife), both singers.
Some of you (quite a few it seems) intuited it from the meta prompt. I mean “Something America has a lot of…Americas got TALENT TV show… Of course there were some WAGS wide of the mark: Blondes, Stars, Acres, Freedoms; all true but not the answer. I’m guessing it was the banner picture that produced the “Blondes” answer.
It was not my most popular, but it WAS one of the most solved with 222 total solves, 40 of them being submitted. Tomorrow you’ll be treated to a Ben puzzle; but I’ll be returning the following week with what I hope will be a MUCH easier puzzle. Until then, thanks to all who solved and commented.
