And, dang.... DON'T tell me those were not deliberate red herrings.
So... I'll have a cosmopolitan but hold the triple sec and lime juice and replace the cranberry juice with vodka.

Got the mechanism (I am pretty sure) and agree about the rabbit holes.
Or maybe I have not got the mechanism and am in a deep deep hole...
15 minutes later: fixed a mistake I had made. On the beach now.

Missing a letter but submitting anyway - heading out for burgers cuz that’s what you do on your 38th anniversary (if it’s 3 days til you leave for Cabo). 
UPDATE: Finally spotted it … very missable. I mean, if you know what piece you’re looking for and look at the grid for half an hour and still can’t find it… ? Yeah, that’s tough.

On the shore. Changed course at least twice to get there. And saw a boat full of rabbits randomly sailing next to me. Wow. Fun one and worth the price of admission. Time for some Blue Moon Haze IPA.
