I'm here, but not "shore" how I got here.

Ashore … I think … but my inner critic wants a little more convincing … 😜.

On shore...unlike many of you I could not think of a single 10-letter celeb in the first couple dozen that went through my head. Plus I rabbit holed myself based off the title, the here and now, one of Matt's proclivities, and a couple clues high in the grid. Once I figured out the answer, backsolving took a few minutes but it's 100 percent there....

I've got something, extrapolating the rest. I'm gonna claim a spot on the beach, and, as this is the warmest evening we're likely to have for a while, order up a Monkey 47 martini. Cheers!

I'm calling myself ashore. I'm sure I should wear a scuba mask, as social distancing on this beach may be difficult. But I'll remove it for a Martini after the theatre. "Company" last evening; "Flying Over Sunset" tonight!

I'm pretty sure I know the answer, but I haven't even tried the solve. I'll do it after cocktails, perhaps it will go easier?

Toes in sand, I predict a very crowded beach.

I'm on *a* beach, 75% sure it's the right one; I sent in the solution which I sensed immediately from [REDACTED] and then found a perfectly cromulent mechanism for.

I'm on shore, hope it's the right one! But I believe I'll have a negroni, just to celebrate Thursday!

Also on shore - and hoping for more snow tomorrow. I am unusual in that winter is my favorite season - the colder and snowier the better.

My hand traces lazy trails through the sand beneath the hammock. It does feel strange to be here, under the palm fronds that sway over my head. But I know that soon my friends will be gathered close. Even now I hear the ukeleles beginning to play and smell the sweet, earthy smell of the poi nearby. I am ... ashore.

On shore. Wondering if there was more to the mechanism however.

Like many others, I had guessed the answer just from reading the prompt. I went ahead and filled in the grid and found the mechanism, but it got me only halfway to shore. Oh well, half a celeb is better than none, but I wonder if more thorough solvers were able to find the other half.
