\Now that I know the right answer, I can't decide if this one was too easy or too hard.

I’m so glad it’s not just us struggling! First step is done, but where to go from here?? Hubs is trying to talk me into an answer that I think is WAY too huge a stretch, especially for a week 1. We’ll keep at it.

I finally managed to hit on the solution, seems more like a week 1.5 to me.

I think there’s a bit of a bug in his counter code; it didn’t rollover properly and this is actually a week 6.

(I kid- Matt’s the best and when I can’t get a puzzle it’s me not him!)

first step - yes, very easy.

and I've been doing too much online research for this to be a week 1. Still 29D'ing.

This might hold a record for most posts on a Week 1, haha, especially in the first 24 hours.

Oh. Okay. Epiphany, maybe.

same, epiphany, maybe, beaming up, let's see where I materialize.

EDIT: ok, you're on the board, I'm not on the board, but I'm not on the other list either, so am I stuck in limbo?

This puzzle was so weird I forgot to post that I have beamed up. The Tuesday write-up will be very interesting.

Ummm, it stopped raining? I mean, a week 1 is usually a stroll on the beach. This was a pole vault in a bouncy house.

So you epiphany solvers are telling us if we hang in there it might reveal itself?

I am completely baffled. What the heck is going on??

Edit - something occurred to me, but it’s not what I’d call a ringer. I mean, it kind of makes sense and is mildly cute, but it could just be incidental. Now, to post or not to post…. I may run it by one of you who are on the board. If you have solved and are willing to tell me yes or no, message me! Second edit - is this even cricket, to do this?

Final edit: yes I had the right answer. Interesting... yes it will be interesting to see the de-brief.

Since my brain cells have been useless for solving metas today, that reminds me…

I ran into an Olympic athlete the other day. I asked him "Are you a Pole Vaulter?"

He replied “No, I'm German. But how did you know my name is Walter?"

Hey now, Walter is also a pretty common Polish name. There's a few in my family. And then, of course, there's Walter Liberace, who was half Polish and half Italian. When I used to tell my dad he was just like Liberace he didn't find it too amusing. (It was because he was also Polish and Italian. He didn't own a candelabra or play piano.)

Step one, done. Lots of options but none with a click!

UPDATE: I submitted what was a viable answer with a click, but alas I was not beamed up! Can't wait until Tuesday to read the solution!

Beamed up! Got a late start on this, but found it straightforward and a touch tricky for a week 1.

Full confession: I've been thoroughly stumped by this Week "1". (I see what most everyone else sees, but...) I have been avoiding this forum & xwordcontest.com to keep from being frustrated & embarrassed by all you meanies that solved.

Hmm... You haven't solved, or any submitted answer is correct?

This more flummoxier than I thought.
