Ashore. Visiting son in Seattle. Solved last night at his place with daughter on zoom. Haven’t had time to read posts, but I assume the “E” word was used. Though we had problems with the SW corner, knowing the metanism by then helped us fill it in.

Had a trip to Hawaii this week, and took the red eye home last night to see my daughter’s play. Did most of the grid last night on the plane, got home around 9AM and saw the mechanism right away. Who knew that sleep deprivation helped solve metas!?!?

Another mai tai with a dark rum floater please!

Good evening

Our final count is 264 on the shore.

Long odds winning the mug this week but good luck

Long odds or short odds, I still haven’t won a mug.

Boo hoo.

Sneaking ashore last minute just in time to help clean the beach. I'll have whatever's left after what appears to have been a large party enjoying a large party.

Did anyone, while about halfway through the grid and without thinking too hard, *briefly* think "Okay, the the countries initials spell PRAGUE, so I'll just have to google cities in Prague that share names with towns in Oklahoma...." before giving oneself a huge dope slap. (Hmmm.... nobody wants to admit it. That's okay, I didn't either. I'm just asking hypothetically... sure, I am.)

That it was done after the second step and we didn't have to do a third did take a little wind out of my sails. I'm not sure when we last had a meta that cooperatively just stopped right where it should.

Interesting. It looks like WSJ is still accepting entries.

I'm probably not the only one that noticed all my googling had Friday Night Lights taking place in DILLON (which has the same number of letters as ODESSA). Knowing it had be a city in a country beginning with U really was the only way I got that corner filled it. (I wasn't up to googling metro stops)

You know... their programming is buggy. I'm sure they are not.
