Jimmie Rodgers, who wrote and sang "In the Jailhouse Now" was from Meridian, MS and his museum is here. Every year there is the Jimmie Rodgers Festival. People come from all over. There is quite a substantial number of fans from Australia.

Originally from Meridian, Mississippi, James Charles Rodgers (September 8, 1897 – May 26, 1933) was an American singer-songwriter and musician who rose to popularity in the late 1920s. Widely regarded as the "Father of Country Music", he is best known for his distinctive yodeling. Rodgers was known as "The Singing Brakeman" and "America's Blue Yodeler". He has been cited as an inspiration by many artists, and he has been inducted into multiple halls of fame.
"Waiting for a Train" was one of the earliest songs I learned on the guitar as a young teen decades ago.

He was diagnosed with Tuberculosis at age 27 and was dead at age 35. What a shame.

Ashore.
I've been experiencing the tail end of vacation, the chores that come with the return home, and an accompanying half-heartedness regarding the meta because of the prompt.
During an opportunity to check the forum yesterday afternoon, I realized it was 4:34 and I decided to be lazy and pop into the zoom. I realized Big Brother was on the zoom too and instead of paying attention, we started messaging/chatting. But it all worked out because when I mentioned what I'd seen so far, he only had to say a one-word nudge and I realized the answer. Not my era but recognizable in the end.
@Mirage, and @EVJ, your posts could almost have been mine. Hits of the 80's were from Sesame Street, Raffi, or Little Bunny Foo Foo.

@whimsy My hits from the 80's were on the cars as my kids were learning to drive.

... aaaaaaand, now we see who all the old folks are. :D
For all my students who love '80s Workout Day for Homecoming Week, I get to tell them I was actually born in the '80s.
Before or after I graduated from high school?

Already posted I was ashore. But today I really am ..
If I'm around, I am willing to join the Muggle Zoom room at other times to lend a hand to those in need.

Is that a red drum over your right shoulder?
I don't have anything clever to say, but if I did, it would go here.

Just in case anyone needs a refresher - or a primer, for that matter - on 80's pop culture, I give you the following CliffsNotes version. This video always brings a smile to my face and it never fails to trigger all the nostalgia. Surely I'm not the only one!!

Ashore. It was funny… The song popped into my head as I was still solving the grid, as if my subconscious had already seen the solution. Quick, fun solve this week!
