@Puzzled1 Each of us have our own standards but the use of the internet including google or any other search engine is generally not considered something to keep you from being on shore or submitting. Constructors use computer programs to create the contest and many of these have the names of all those obscure people in them so we can use the same kinds of tools to solve.

Happy to report we are on shore! Tonight seems like a good time for a margarita despite the cold weather. And one hot chocolate for son please. Happy weekend all.

Ashore with the crowd on the beach. Tough grid and nice construction although [REDACTED] may have made this too easy. Not complaining.

Alas, on the ship. Finished grid with kids, but they spent too much time talking about video games (for my taste anyway). So we found a couple of rabbit holes that we started going down. But then son had to leave Zoom for something. Didn't have that "D'oh!" moment (to quote @DrTom quoting Homer).

So we have not reached the beach. Wine is poured anyway. Thanks, Isaac!

Ashore! That was fun!

On another note - any Wordlers here? Have been really enjoying something that runs counter to other online games that try to keep you on for as long as possible. One 5-letter word per day and then you have to wait for another 24 hours before the next. Different skill set to crosswords and metas but fun nonetheless!

Easiest meta for me so far this year. I actually used the meta to help fill in the grid.

Startling. Your solve rate is 10 or 100 times mine.

This is the easiest, most obvious puzzle I’ve seen in years … or ever.

Just made it to shore. Should have gotten it much sooner. Just looked again, and there it was. Skrewball whiskey, please.

Grid done Thursday in about 15 minutes. Then came to a screeching halt. Guess I am on a different wavelength this week.
Good weekend and solving to all. I’m off to watch the Aussie Open on the bar TV with Isaac! ;)
