Dr Tom - Is that a typo or are we really fiends?
Don’t ask questions you don’t want to know the answer to.

Ashore and how I love a good Saturday morning solve! I found this to be fun, a perfect aha moment (not too easy but still not hidden too much), and a super-elegant construction. Makes up for the non-fun of last week on this solver’s part. Hope everyone has a good rest of the weekend.

Good Saturday morning muggles

Welcome to our newest muggles this week - Jusmarebear, goosefish, Oxford Comma Mama, Trish, and moxy (speaking of Oxford commas). Good luck with your solving and there are several ways to get better. First under Come Aboard/FAQ's Community/Solving Resources there are several topics including all the past WSJ crosswords and hints. Then there are the zoom calls on Friday at 4:30 and Sunday at 8 ET to cosolve. And if you get stuck you can PM anyone who has solved and tell them what you have done and where you are stuck. And the muggle link at the top of the page is always open so you can arrange to have your own cosolving with another muggle from somewhere in the world. And if one meta is not enough, we have the muggle created metas Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday each week under Other Meta Crossword Puzzles and then we have Matt Gaffney's Weekly Crossword Contest and the MMMM which comes out monthly.

We have a very crowded beach with one muggle keeping Isaac company for now and 203 on the shore. (by the way, our record is 290 on the shore).

On the shore are

Have a great trip! We got back from Antarctica just about a year ago today and I'm still relishing those memories.

Grid was tough, and then the whole bloody thing got zapped into the ether. I was so disgruntled could not see the glaringly obvious answer without a kick. Aw well, happens.

(Also, I didn’t say the E-word)

On shore now after finally getting to take a closer look.

With so many crowding the beach this weekend, I'm not sure how we'll get to higher ground in time if another coastal storm moves in.

With the angst of losing your entire grid, I thought you would be referring to the (letter after E) word.
