Well, I submitted an answer but feel like I’m missing a final step.

Ashore. Went down a rabbit hole, came back up. Went down a different rabbit hole, came back up. Then figured it out. Cute and clever, but not my favorite.

Happily ashore, but it took a while due to 2 of the necessary answers hiding from me in plain sight!

I’m with those who had no trouble with the first step, but then…rabbit holes galore. There’s still time though!

Likewise, nudged ashore. Got the first two steps without difficulty but that third one’s a doozy.
Always happy to provide a nudge if I’m ashore.

Been ashore since the wee hours on Friday morning, but wasn't sure until I got confirmation from another user here. What a doozy! Definitely the trickiest one I've ever gotten without a nudge. Celebrating 55 days sober today, so I'll happily take a virgin screwdriver to fight of the scurvy and plop my butt in the sand.

KAS 5 for me but fortunately son is home from college and steered us to shore. Gasping and water logged but on shore!

Carried to shore by @Bob cruise director (and still managed to get the wrong answer....I thought for a sec "there is no way that MG would put that as answer"

Ashore after two weeks asea! Very tricky Matt, you bad boy! Many thanks to @Collegetowngirl for the collaboration and to @BarbaraK for confirming I had the correct first step.

Steaks for dinner followed by IPA and wine on the patio.
Good luck to all for a successful solve. If you see that I'm ashore - rare occasion of late - message me if you'd like a nudge. Be sure to include your progress so I can know better how to assist.

Woke up with a worry Thursday night (after submitting Thursday afternoon) that I had missed something, and recent posts have reawakened that worry. But there is real pleasure in not knowing yet, in waiting for the great 9 p.m. PST reveal, and wondering about it for all that time. Soon I will know.

In the meantime, Saturday's WSJ puzzle had a wonderful clue and answer at 84 down: "Hardly a super duper": bad liar. This is keeping me in smiles until the reveal this evening. Stuff like this -- as well as this group -- is why I like crosswords.

Started today but never made it to shore. Not because of lack of trying or time constraints. I zeroed on what I thought was / is the right clue but ended up like a 🦣 in a tar pit. Will stay up until 12:01 because now I need to know the mechanism

Got it, finally! You had to push through the inconsistency.
Definitely a team effort with my husband.
Thank you for the fun!

A little Chartreuse tonight.

The late night bar gang is a good group generally. Quieter and rowdier at the same time. Think I’ll stay till midnight.

I know the answer, only bc of the zoom crew, but I won’t submit. Feeling like Yoda66’s….

Nothing like waiting 'til the eleventy-tenth hour to see the light! Tiptoeing onto shore on this glorious hoodie-by-the firepit evening. Perfect for a New Trail Crisp Lime lager, a local favorite among the newly retired (for whom every night is Saturday).
