Ashore. Well that was quite a trip, Mr. Shenk!
Thanks for the tour. I had a very good tour guide- thanks T. G.!
I’m all cross countried out, so back to my snowshoes to enjoy a beautiful day in the North Country with companion Ruthie.

I seem to arrive later and later each week, when I arrive at all. Thank God for that perpetual Mimosa fountain.

Late start but done and on shore: simple but clever. For some reason I find Shenk's metas simpler than Gaffney's. A couple of misspellings on my grid got me lost for a little while - that's the only rec I can give to the mugglers at the bar w/ Isaac: make sure your grid answers are correct.

Should be a good game tonight b/n the Heels and the second best team from Durham.

Bob cruise director wrote: Sat Mar 05, 2022 12:10 pm And I have a question for @SoccerMom . When my kids were playing soccer 40+ years ago, all the soccer moms had greenish coats that they wore to the games and stood next to each other to talk. The coats had a bunch of pockets that contained tissues, barrettes for the girls, random cookies, and other stuff that the kids brought and needed to have held. Do Soccer Moms still do that?
Bob, thanks for the warm welcome! And to your question, the answer is a resounding YES! You know us soccer moms well, and we all own that coat. We never know what our kiddos will need, but we are prepared for everything. And we love being at the soccer field more than any other place. :-) Thanks again for the nice welcome today!

Getting to this and have the mechanism, but not all the pieces yet. Is it against the rules to order a cocktail in anticipation of solving?? :-)

I had put this away after being stymied Thursday. Finally came back to it this morning but it still took a while. Glad I didn't ask for a nudge.
The site is just a web page, a meeting place, a clubhouse - it's the group that's special.

Haven't had much time to work on this, but I am not feeling hopeful as I am seeing nothing. My streak of "on shore"s may be coming to an end...

Update: ashore with WSJ. Not sure why that was so hard! Now back to Gaffney.

ok, update (having had my congratulatory margarita prior to actually solving . . . ). Got there, but harder than it should have been in retrospect. The grid was well-done.

Ashore finally. I had the right general idea when I first looked at this, but a general idea is not a mechanism, and I remained a man without a country. Without eight countries actually, but who's counting. I stared at the grid for a while again today, and there they were.

Count me ashore! Took a long time to see it, and now I'm admiring how beautiful the construction is!

On shore! This was a great meta for me as my husband and I took off from the US in January to overland 14 countries. Currently in Mexico enjoying a Corona. Cheers!

Still paddling around - got halfway there, but nothing seems to work. Sharks are circling. Hope I can make it home by Sunday midnight. Hate to break a 4 month streak.
