Oh man--I am knocking on the door on this one. It's like I'm on the beach but my feet are stuck in the tidal surf and I can't quite take the last step. Should be on shore before long.

Sincere thanks to all my muggle friends who are teaching me to see!
Well said and so true.

Ashore. About average page number for me.....when I actually solve it! Agree with those who found the mechanism but still struggled, and as usual, very clever. Nice one, Mike!

A giant thank you to our moderators! 👏👏

All of us take a chance when we come here of seeing a spoiler that someone has just posted. For most of us, it's a very small chance because our moderators quickly deal with it, and they do that at risk to their own aha moment since they're guaranteed to see all spoilers. So sorry that happened to you this week. Thank you for taking care of it so it didn't happen to many others.

I'll stick to coffee, for medicinal purposes, but black, as I don't deserve better.

Fine.

Alee.
If you want help with a meta, feel free to PM me. The more specific you are about what you have and what you want, the more likely I can help without spoiling.

(And if I help you win a mug, I’ll be especially delighted.)

even with my eyes closed, I can feel the sun on my face. I hear the wind blowing through the palm fronds overhead and a sense of deep peace falls upon me. i spread my arms as if to embrace the breeze and give thanks that i am ... ashore

Done and done (~30 minutes from start to end, one of my quickest; cute mechanism with 100% certainty with answer. Cuban + El Dorado Blue rum tonight. Let's start taking sides for the big game bext weekend: obviously have to pull for former Dawg Stafford (but I also loved the Bengals story this entire year)

:desert_island: :tropical_drink: On shore at last. I made this way too hard, but this meta was well worth the effort - absolutely brilliant!

Ashore! Just sat down with the grid this morning. Kept seeing bits and pieces of the mechanism. Was finally able to get my poop in a group and find the entire thing. Very clever and I appreciate the creativity it took to construct this one!

Barkeep!! B&T with Harp here!

Ahoy! ON SHORE! Apparently, I had my opaque goggles on and couldn't see it after I figured out the mechanism. My wife dragged me ashore once she saw it. Nice one.

Good Saturday morning muggles

another interesting challenge from Mike Shenk. To some it came easily and to others it was and still is a challenge. For those still on the ship, this is very solvable so keep at it.

And a very warm welcome to our newest muggles - Spondulix and ColinM

Don & Cynthia

We are always happy to get to know other muggles and help in any way! PM's are always welcome. The next best thing to winning a mug is helping a fellow muggle win a mug!

I saw something, but didn't follow it and allowed myself to become distracted. I need to remember my own "rule" and see if it's only a one or two of something (coincidence) or at least three (probably a pattern worth following). So much wasted time, too many rabbit holes. Sigh.

But, ashore now!

FINALLY!

I had the "trick" very early on but darned if I could put it together. Turns out I put it together very early on but just did not see it. It is incredibly frustrating when I do that, but then just as incredibly delightful when I do the DOH head-slap and see the light! Count me ashore please.

I'd put "Keeps missing the Obvious" on my list of things I hate, except that list already includes:

1. Lists
2. Irony
3. Lists
4. Repetition
E. Inconsistency
NUDGES!I am always willing to give nudges IF ASKED; metas should be about fun, not frustration. PM me what you have done so far, because often you are closer than you think, and I will try to help you move along.

Ashore. Quite clever. Natasha and I crawled down a deep rabbit hole before backing out and seeing the light.
