OTC! I was in 9D, among other states, over the weekend and just now got around to this wonderful puzzle.
It's novel enough that I didn't see it immediately, but familiar enough that I got it after a little thought.

Wednesday Nudges
► Show Spoiler
People often ask me how long it takes to create a meta puzzle. Well, this one took 7 seconds.

► Show Spoiler
That is to say 7 symmetrically-placed grid entries that can be preceded by "second".
► Show Spoiler
Hmm, there aren't any alternate clues/entries this time. Something different is going on here.
► Show Spoiler
This puzzle was released on the 2nd of September, which, according to this metanism would be the letter "e".
► Show Spoiler
If you're not sure how you felt about this meta, you may want to ask one of your solver friends what they thought.

Ahoy, Muggles!
The "something you may ask for after you've finished" is a
"SECOND OPINION". To solve, you first needed to find the seven symmetrically-placed entries that can be preceded by "second" to form new phrases. Those entries included 8A COMING, 20A OPTION, 25A TIME, 38A INCOMMAND, 54A WIND, 61A COUSIN, and 69A INCOME. The "second" step was to use the "second" letters of these seven entries to spell "OPINION". One final application of "second" produced the meta answer.
I hope you all enjoyed the Labor Day holiday as much as I did last weekend. Andrea did bring her potato salad to the beach, and I did manage to score some "seconds" - but only after I finished grilling the hotdogs!
Until next time!
Cap'n Rick
