1. The central long entry is your main clue: "Behaving excessively, and what you will be doing to add two letters to the starred entries to solve the meta" = GOING OVER THE TOP.

2. You may find 5 clues are a bit "excessive".

3. 5 clues contain an "over the top" adverb. Each of these clues and their respective grid entry will help you add 2 letters to one of the starred entries.

4. The grid entries of the "over the top" clues function as synonyms for the words you are trying to form by adding two letters.

5. The "over the top" clues can also be used to derive the 2 letters you need.
