WOW!

Kudos to Muller and Beckman. This was a fun fill AND a meta I had to work for. On shore!!

Made it to the shore. Nice job by Pete and Milo.

That was great! Very well done by Pete and Milo.

Had the same solving experience as some others in that I had it fairly nailed down except for one last part. Then realized what else I needed to do. Super satisfying meta.

On shore. I was a little concerned with guest constructors this week (especially after not getting the MMMM last week), but my WSJ streak is intact! Nice puzzle.

Left Isaac early but not ashore yet. Treading water though.

I'm onshore with 100% certainty. I tried to post this twice before, but it didn't show up, so I apologize if multiple posts show up now.

Edit: OK, this time it worked. Maybe it made a difference that this post was from Chrome on a PC, while the previous attempts were from Firefox on a Mac.

This was a fun puzzle and very nicely constructed. I feel partly vindicated from my big whiff last week. Most of you found the shore easily, but I was misled by that impostor "Air Ace" Milne!

Printed, favorite pen by bedside. But @!#% kids won't go to sleep, so the puzzle must wait...callllling me, softly......

On shore, 100%. Very impressive meta construction.

No offense to Matt and Mike, but it's very nice to have a new perspective added to the mix. I thought the grid was much tougher than usual, but made fairly short work of the meta. Took me a few minutes to get the last step, but happy to be on shore. Manhattans are tonight's drink of choice.

I just finished the grid but will look at the meta later. I have to say that this is my least favorite crossword in a LONG time. Way too much searching and guessing needed. Many guesses and lookups until I was sure my answers were right.

Not having such a good week here. I enjoyed the grid and was sure I was on the right track to solving the meta but... what I ended up with doesn't make any sense! Isaac, set 'em up.

A little late, but I just swam ashore. The puzzle itself took me a bit longer than usual, and I had to let the meta float around in the little gray cells for quite a while before the lights came on up there. Excellent challenges, both of them ... 😜.

Mr. Webster and I just finished the fun grid sitting here in the back of Isaac’s barroom. ( no internet access here far from shore). So far 3d. Maybe I need a 9a...

Got it. Some of the paths to the meta were familiar, thank goodness, and I enjoyed going through the steps to get it. On vacation right now in Nova Scotia. I’m in Baddeck now, summer home of Alexander Graham Bell. I just learned his wife was deaf, and the telephone grew out of some of his experiments with sound to help deaf people. Sorry to go off topic...

Our son Bill and his family came to help us celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary today and last night Bill and Jim showed that two heads are better than one in solving this meta. Kudos to the constructors for giving their brains quite the workout. We are delighted to toast you on the beach.
